I saw this under the sign for a toilette. I knew that vorsicht meant caution, but I was unfamiliar with the second word. Stufe, resembles stuffy or even stink, so I thought to myself, "OK, get ready for a bad smell and make sure you keep the door closed." So just as went to enter the smelly bathroom, I tripped. And that's when I learned that stufe means step.
